INCLUSION
SUPPORT SERVICES
STE
Consultants is committed to providing inclusive education for people
with disabilities in the least-restrictive environment. School districts
are facing increasing pressure to provide supported inclusive education
to complex students with challenging needs. We have years of experience
establishing and maintaining effective inclusion programs in Bay
Area public schools. Some elements of our inclusion services include:
-
Staff training:
An inclusive school is one where each student has a place and
belongs to a community. A crucial first step in creating an
environment of acceptance is training. STE consultants will
not only train the staff working directly with a target student,
but will provide school-wide workshops specific to a student.
-
Team
collaboration: Team communication and coordination
is crucial. STE will effectively collaborate with families,
psychologists, speech therapists, special & general education
teachers, administrators, and support staff to insure a coordinated
educational effort for each student.
-
Direct Support:
STE consultants will coordinate the inclusion effort at any
school. We have a multitude of tools, instruments, and interventions
to facilitate meaningful inclusion for any student. We utilize
research-based educational and behavioral methodologies.
-
ABA/Discrete Trial:
It’s not just for SDC settings! We can train and support
staff to implement these methodologies in the general education
environment.
-
Social Skills support:
This is an important facet to any inclusion program. STE
will facilitate Circle of Friends, Lunch and Recess Groups,
as well as social skills training for students with a variety
of learning styles.
-
Academic Support:
As experiences classroom teachers STE can implement a variety
of teaching strategies and curriculum modalities such as
Lindamood-Bell, Open Court, Touch Math, Direct Instruction
techniques, SRA and more. We can provide a push-in or pull-out
service. Our aim is to integrate students with their peers
as much as possible.
-
Assistive Technology:
Often times our students require high- or low-technology
assistance in the classroom to gain access to the curriculum
or communication. We are skilled and experienced in implementing
academic strategies facilitated by Intellitools, Intellipics,
Co:Writer, Write: OutLoud, Inspiration/Kidspiration, Alphasmart,
Boardmaker, Speaking Dynamically Pro, and many other AT
devices.
